Glenys Trouncer (Flute)
Glenys LOVES teaching music!
Her approach is to teach in a way that best suits the individual personality and learning needs of any student, whether young or older, and believes it is NEVER too late to begin enjoying music.
She holds a Master of Teaching (Primary) degree on top of her Bachelor of Arts (Musicology). She is also an accredited member of the Music Teachers’ Association of NSW.
Glenys has, in recent years, become interested in understanding how to best assist Dyslexic learners in language learning and is currently completing studies with the Australian Dyslexia Association in Multi-sensory Structured Language (MSL).
With nearly 30 years experience teaching individual and group lessons she is able to draw on a number of methods including the AMEB system; the Australasian Flute Syllabus; and Suzuki Method.
Glenys has taught in a number of local schools (Gib Gate; Chevalier College; Moss Vale High; Bowral and Mittagong Primary) as well as from various ‘home’ locations. She enjoys working as part of the team at Powerpoint and greatly values the encouragement and inspiration that working with other musicians/teachers can bring.
Flute is her main instrument, however, as a member of the band Rapunzel’s Party she sings; plays guitar, tin whistles, percussion; and contributes original compositions.
As a singer/songwriter one of her songs made it to the shortlist of the 2008 Australian Songwriters’ Association Competition.
Glenys regards music as a wonderful gift ~ as are, her wonderful husband and two gorgeous daughters!
