JOHN WOODHOUSE (Guitar, Piano, Violin, Banjo)
John Woodhouse has been the musical Director for the Southern Highlands Youth Arts Council for 5 years. He began singing harmony and playing before he can remember but around 5 years old. He learnt piano and studied classical violin. In his teens he started playing guitar and was the bass player for the professional Sydney production of "Godspell" at 16. He also attended the Sydney Conservatorium Jazz course for 2 semesters at this time. John has a degree in Psychology which he now practices part-time. The rest of the time is spent teaching, playing and arranging music in a variety if situations.
A father and grandfather John believes that music has a great capacity to express constructively and transform emotion thus enhancing the quality of life, quite apart from its clear benefits for brain development. At it's heart music contains the possibility of infinite joy and it is this philosophy that underlies his approach to teaching.
