Kelesi Woodhouse (Piano, Voice)
Kelesi Woodhouse has been a professional musician since her 20th year. Classically trained, with an abiding interest in jazz piano and composition, Kelesi began her career in rock bands touring Australia in the 70s and 80s. In 1988 she moved to the Blue Mountains and set up her singing and piano tuition studio.
Kelesi was secretary of the Australia and New Zealand Association of Teachers of Singing until 1994, when her second child was born, and performed with various jazz combos in the Blue Mountains until her move to the Southern Highlands in 2003. Her first album of original compositions was published in 1991, just before the birth of her first child. A second album was created in 2002, but was not published. Kelesi has conducted large and small choirs, has taught piano and singing at Frensham, Chevalier College, THSPA, Moss Vale Public School and Moss Vale High and SHYAC, and has continued to perform as a jazz pianist and singer, as well as a session musician, accompanist and composer..
Her passion for sharing the joy and inspiration of music is one of her primary motivations as a teacher and performer.
