Louise Bell (Piano, Folk Harp, Singing)
Louise plays piano, folk harp and percussion and is a singer, composer and arranger. Favourite styles: classical, folk, jazz, blues, sacred and world music. Favourite colour: purple.
A piano teacher since 1995, she enhances the students’ joy of musical discovery with individually tailored programs, cultivating a balance between aural and reading experiences; structure and free and fun exploration. Beginners enjoy singing, rhythm games and a gentle introduction to reading through writing out their piano music in rainbow colours. More advanced students play a rich repertoire from the classics to popular and blues. Improvisation techniques are developed and composing is encouraged.
Louise plays at ceremonies, functions, workshops and retreats and was musician-in-residence at Craigieburn from 2003-6. She is a member of Zjalu viola & harp/piano duo and Rapunzel’s Party, a seven-piece women’s group.
Louise’s CDs of original music are Troubadour d’amour, The Soul’s Dream and, in collaboration with Ganga Ashworth, Echoes of the Goddess.
