Anna-Kat is singer-songwriter who makes multidisciplinary mind-blowing art to promote social change.
She grew up an on alpaca farm near Mittagong in country NSW. Somewhat a black sheep (or colourful camelid) in a family of farmers, engineers - anything but musicians, at six she took up the violin and music became her soulmate. In Primary school her family relocated to Arequipa, Peru whilst her mum researched alpacas in the Altiplano. She writes songs in hope that they may be the invisible embrace to little hearts when they need it most, as the music of Missy Higgins, Joni Mitchell, Debussy, Nina Simone and Kate Bush have been for her.
Anna has performed in jazz and original bands in cities and towns across Australia and the world; from Havana to New York, Dubbo to Denpasar, London to Berlin, Broome to Beijing. She’s sung in jazz bands on cruise ships, self-managed and performed two national tours with her duo TAWLS, released four self-produced singles, three and a half videoclips, co-produced commissioned tracks for ABC kids show ‘Giggle and Hoot’ and in 2018 was nominated for Best Music/Musical at the Perth International Fringe Festival.
