Alex has lived in the Southern Highlands nearly all her life.
She started playing music at a young age and has been part of the southern highlands musical community for many years.
She also plays Cello & Viola & enjoys reading, movies and cooking.
Alex has studied a Bachelor of Music at ANU and completed the first phase of Colourstrings violin training.
By the end of 2018 Alex is due to finish her Masters in Secondary Teaching (Music) at UNE.
She is also a current member of the Southern Highlands Symphony Orchestra with regular performances across the Southern Highlands.
Scottish born and educated, Cathy's musical experience began when she was eleven, first with violin and then viola - piano and classical guitar followed in later years.
Cathy has played in orchestras in Scotland, England and Australia, continually from the age of fourteen. In recent years Cathy has played with the Kur-ring-gai Philharmonic Orchestra for some ten years. She belongs to the Maggini String Ensemble which performs at weddings / functions etc, She has also tutored children's string groups.
Cathy holds an Associate of Trinity college London Teachers Diploma which involved Theory of Music at Associate level and she is a member o fthe Music Teacher's Association Australia.
Cathy taught at Mudgee Primary School for a number of years and privately in Sydney until she moved to the Southern Highlands. Here she belongs to the Highlands Symphonia and regularly plays for pleasure with colleagues in quartets and in various musicals etc.
Cathy teaches Suzuki and Traditional methods, prepares students for examinations in practical and theory subjects, and encourages children through to adults to participate in musical experiences for pleasure or serious study.
